Pain is a gift. Humanity, without pain, would know neither fear nor pity. Without fear, there could be no humility, and every man would be a monster. The recognition of pain and fear in others gives us rise in us to pity, and in our pity is our humanity, our redemption.
I have been taught a very valuable lesson this past week. I have learned that life is precious, life is short and life is unpredictable. I also learned that you always need your choose your words wisely when being honest with people, and that you can’t always control everything that you have control of.
PAIN is both a gift and a horrible curse. The ability to feel pain and the ability to cause pain also comes in the same jukebox. FEAR makes us want to fight or flee. When we fight, we risk injury. When we flee we think we are cowardly. HUMANITY allows us to have empathy and sympathy. Some cannot help but over empathize and/or over sympathize and that can be difficult to cope with. HUMILITY is a strength and a weakness. When you know how to be humble you can have more empathy and sympathy. When you have humility, it can weaken you to the point of despair.
